Nursery Pics

So I've finally gotten around to posting pics of the nursery. Karl did a great job with the Babar renderings.

Cereal Milk Ice Cream

Best. Ice Cream. Ever. Recipe from Milk Bar. This is the most delicious concoction to come out of the ice cream maker yet. Thanks to http://cafefernando.com/ for making the recipe available.

The Squid and the Whale

Lex had a project for Day Care. They were learning about life in the sea and we were asked to create two images of sea creatures on the back of a paper plate with facts about the creature on the front. I selected a giant squid and Karl picked a whale. Karl also sent along a CD of whale sounds for the kids to listen to. I worked in some extra credit too and did a drawing of a cuttle fish. I find those fascinating.

Bagel Making

I've been on a savory baking kick lately. This bagel recipe was from the same article in Cooking Light that the soft pretzels were from, but I like the bagels best. In addition to the poppy and sesame seeds, I've done fennel and caraway. Tasty!

Robot Party

For Alexander's first birthday, we decided on a robot theme. The cake was just a cut up sheet cake frosted with gray frosting. I had to get black food coloring and then mix with white icing. The candies are mostly the old time licorice candy's that we picked up from Walgreens. I also made a soft toy from felt for a little present.

Pretzel Making

Delicous homemade soft pretzels.

Wee Wonderfuls Mr. & Mrs. Gnome

I love www.weewonderfuls.com and purchased the pattern for Mr. & Mrs. Gnome. They were so fun to make, turned out beautifully and my twin nieces were so happy to receive them for Christmas.
